My new life chapter one concept for fresh start, new year resolution, dieting and healthy lifestyle

Your story empowers you or holds you back, depending on what you decide to do with it.

We all have a story. Each of us has a history. Our lives have been touched by other people and we have actually been shaped by others and their opinions of us and whether they honored their promises and how well they fulfilled their given role in our lives.

One of the things that trips us up is when we think that other people aren’t fulfilling their promises and honoring their roles in our lives, that it’s a reflection of us, and a reflection of our goodness.

We mistakenly think it’s a reflection of whether or not we deserve to have those promises honored.

We see this a lot of times in kids who are part of a broken home or individuals who are coming out of a really unhealthy and sometimes abusive relationship. They sometimes feel that the reason it didn’t work is because there was some sort of flaw within them. But that entire line of thinking is flawed!  That is a way we become trapped in a cycle of negative thoughts about ourselves, settling for less than we deserve and being okay with being treated poorly, which is of course not what God is calling you to do.

You were not created to be abused, to be neglected, to be lied to or to be trampled on emotionally.

Those are things that happen because of a fallen world. It’s more than okay to build boundaries to limit access to people who treat you that way. It’s okay to say, “I deserve better.”

When the negative voices in your head and perhaps the real negative voices that are around you say, “This is EXACTLY what you deserve”, you can default to the one thing that is true no matter what, and that is the fact that you’re a child of God and He loves you.

He created you to live a life standing beside Him.

So no matter what people have told you, no matter what mistakes you’ve made, no matter how dirty your fights have been, and how unhappy your past has been, take a moment today to align yourself with what God created you to be—not with all those negative things.

Start realizing that God is within your reach every single day.

You can stand in His presence, you can be a child of God, and you can say, “You know what? I deserve not to be hated or abused.” Start living your life from that perspective and it will bring you so much clarity. In your friendships, in your relationships, in your work, in your home life, in the way you parent your children. You’re going to have to make some shifts, and you may have to step away from some people.

It won’t be easy, but it’s crucial to create fulfillment and powerful relationships that are also centered on the position of standing next to God.
